Can algae save the world?
19 July – 8 September
Climate change is the challenge of the 21st century and technology has an important role to play in tackling the problems we face. But how can you make sense of all the solutions being offered? Find out how you can cut through the debate and explore one of the latest options – biofuels.

Everyone is talking about climate change – we are constantly surrounded by ideas and proposals about the causes and potential ways of tackling it. It can feel overwhelming and at times confusing. This Science Museum exhibition, making its only appearance outside London, offers a way through the debate. Providing a ‘toolkit’ of three simple questions enabling the visitor to work through the issues, weigh up the pros and cons and decide where they stand. Focusing on biofuels, visitors can review current research and trial their new-found toolkit on today’s biofuels and a possible biofuel of the future…can algae save the world?
