Human Life is big, bold and exciting! It’s a fun, interactive exhibition which explores where we came from (Our Origins) where we live (Our World) and where we’re going (Our Future). Dive in and enjoy the whole exhibition in one visit, or just dip your toe in the water of the weird and wonderful world of humans.
Using hands-on exhibits and displays, explore questions such as: What makes humans human; how do humans survive in today’s extreme environments; and what will climate change mean for human life on Earth?
Our Origins
Ever wondered what your ancestors looked like? Did you know that the chimpanzee has more in common with you than it does with the gorilla? Whether you want to swing like a gibbon or uncover the origin of your surname, there’s something for you in Our Origins.

Activities on offer include an archaeological dig where you can learn how scientists find out about our origins and see the evolutionary steps our ancestors took.
Examine tools used by some of our closest relatives and check out the similarities and differences showing how our DNA and genes make humans unique as well as what we share with other species.
You can also look up your surname to find out where you name came from.
Our World
