What are chromosomes? What is DNA? Where do we find them and how can we see them? Many students arrive at university to study biology without having seen the fundamental building blocks of Life. In this practical session, students prepare DNA from kiwi fruit and chromosomes from garlic root-tips. Suitable for KS4, bright KS3 and as an introduction to genetics at higher levels.
