Is there any difference between organic and processed food. In this workshop students undertake experiments with cake and with chicken to find out if being organic makes any difference. Is it true that factory farmed food is less tasty than organic produce? Students test chicken from various sources to measure the amount of added water and the quality of the meat. This is cross referenced with taste. Students investigate whether cake from a local supplier contains permitted colourings, and if so, are this natural or man-made.
