Speed, Weight and Rocketry
How can we get into space? Use sensors to measure the speed of balls fired by a variety of methods and have fun experiencing the gravitational pull of different planets. Students end up by creating their own chemical rockets and launching them for a workshop that ends with a bang.
Risk Assessment

| Weights on different planet | None identified | n/a | None |
| Methane/ oxygen rocket | Someone getting hit by rocket | Rocket launched by demonstrator Rocket attached to line well away from people Safety glasses to be worn by all | Low |
| Methane/ oxygen rocket | Damage to hearing from loud bang | Demonstrator to ensure everyone covers their ears Demonstrator to wear ear defenders | Medium |
