12 Feb SLIMEY FUN THIS HALF TERM

12/02/2010

Slime! It’s sticky, squashy and sloppy and children love it, making it the perfect theme for half term fun at Life Science Centre.

All week (from 15 -19 February), visitors can join Science Explainers at the Centre to explore the science of slime.  They can make it, play with it and even do some slimy experiments with it.

Toni Hamill, Public Engagement Officer at Life who developed the workshops, said: "The slime workshops will be lots of fun; they're a chance for visitors to get messy in the name of science."

Elsewhere in the Centre the fun continues with activities aplenty for all the family.  The 20-minute intergalactic film, We Are Astronomers, narrated by former Doctor Who star, David Tennant, will be showing in Life's planetarium along with a live show at 5pm each day which will take visitors through the stars they can see in the night sky.  Thrill seekers can test out the 3D motion simulator* which will be showing Return to Dino Island, a must for all dinosaur fans.

Half term is also the final week for the Centre's popular open air ice rink which closes on Sunday 21 February.
