Newly appointed Minister of State for Universities and Science, David Willetts, MP, met with staff from the Centre for Life on a visit to the region this week.
The minister attended a lecture at the Centre on Thursday evening which saw eminent scientist Richard Dawkins discuss the wonder of science with science writer, Dr Matt Ridley.
David Willetts commented: ""It is important to engage children and adults alike with cutting-edge scientific research. Our future success relies on pushing the boundaries of knowledge ever further, and exciting people about the latest science is a key part of that. The Centre for Life should take enormous pride from what it has achieved in its first decade and I look forward to seeing its progress over the next 10 years."
