Every winter, Life hosts the region’s favourite ice rink on Times Square, right outside the Science Centre. You can enjoy a skate with family and friends seven days a week. 


There’s little difference in price between a skating ticket and a great value ‘combo’ which also gets you entrance into the Science Centre. The ice rink is also available for exclusive hire.

 

Open seven days a week. Closed Christmas Day, Sunday 26 December and Saturday 1 January.

 

Please note that children aged 9 and under must be accompanied by an adult on the ice. Children aged 12 and under must be supervised by an adult.

Parties at Life

Ice rink weekday specials*

Mondays – Fridays, 4 - 6pm
During ice rink period and excluding school holidays.


Ideal for group visits (of ten or more) including weekday birthdays for children and young people. Enjoy the Motion Ride, food in the café and a skate on the rink.
£10.95 per child £11.95 per adult.


Please note: there is a minimum height requirement of 1.2 metres (4 feet) on the Motion Ride.

 

Ice rink weekend birthday parties*

Saturdays and Sundays

 At the weekend, your group can enjoy the full festive science centre experience, a party tea and a skate for £11.95 per child.

 

*Children aged 9 and under must be accompanied on the ice by an adult. Children aged 12 and under must be supervised by an adult . One adult with every four children in a birthday party goes free. Thereafter adult prices apply.

 

 

Festive Events for Adults

Stars and Skate offer


55 and over and fancy taking to the ice? Make the most of our special Stars and Skate Offer.
Enjoy a planetarium show in the Science Centre, followed by a session on the outdoor ice rink then a cup of tea and a biscuit.


Price: £4.99 per person.


Offer is available every Wednesday from 5 January to 16 February 2011, 2 - 6pm (Last admission onto the ice: 5pm).

Parties on ice

Saturday 4 and Friday 10 December from 7pm


Party nights on ice are ideal for a festive celebration with friends and colleagues. Enjoy a skate followed by a buffet supper and boogie in the Science Centre.
Licensed bar available. Suitable for those aged 18 and over.


Price: £17.95 per person


Other dates can be made available if your party has 50 or more guests.
