Ever wondered why vets choose to work with animals rather than humans?

Mini Vet School is an exciting, new, bite-sized lecture series delivered by veterinary experts.

Life’s Mini Vet School gives you a fascinating insight into the world of veterinary medicine through informal sessions delivered by experts.  Learn how the multi-disciplinary training vets receive for general practice - triage, microbiology, biochemistry, radiography, medicine, surgery…. prepares them to see a case right through from first presentation to resolution – something most doctors don’t get to do.

Over the course of six weekly sessions you’ll get an intriguing insight into the world of veterinary medicine – a perfect taster for young adults thinking about pursuing a career as a vet, as well as those just curious to find out more about this fascinating profession.

Sessions are for 6 weeks from Thursday 19 April on consecutive Thursday evenings (last session 24 May). An optional practical session takes place on Saturday 26 May.

Organised with Tony Sarma, a veterinary researcher, subjects covered will include:
Scope of Vet Profession
General Small Animal Practice
Specialisation
Vets in Research
Small Animal Emergency and Critical Care
Professionalism
Ethics and Business of Veterinary Medicine
Large Animal General Practice.
