February half-term highlights

  • Enjoy big bangs and fireballs in our exciting live Rocket Show, with special guests Wonderstruck
  • Explore some new additions to Play Zone for under-7s. Cross bridges over the River Tyne and spot the famous landmarks, including the Angel of the North.
  • Is what you see a ‘pigment’ of your imagination? Find out in our NEW mind-boggling show all about colour!
  • Make and take home your own colour catcher lantern.
  • Discover breathable bathroom walls to reduce humidity and dragonfly wing-inspired insulation in our new Science Now! Hub exhibition that focuses on innovative nature-inspired materials.
  • Experiment with materials to test how they absorb ultraviolet light to make the best visor for an astronaut’s helmet.
