Life Science Centre is open on weekends only until Saturday 23 October, and then we're back open 7 days. Tickets for timed slots can be purchased online in advance of your visit. Some slots on the afternoon will be kept free for walk-ups - but booking is advised to avoid disappointment.
Our safety measures remain in place. This includes the Life team and visitors being asked to wear a face covering unless exempt.
We have two exciting planetarium shows running at Life.
Show 1: A View from Space
Discover what Earth looks like from space in this family-friendly planetarium show.
We know that sending satellites into space allows us to explore the cosmos and increase our understanding of the Universe. But did you know that there are some satellites that look down on Earth?
Some satellites help us see amazing detail of the surface of our planet. Information from the sensors allow us to see changes over time, including the impact that humans have on our world, and they even let us monitor groups of animals in remote locations.
Show 2: Little Bear
An enchanting planetarium show especially for under 7s.
Little Bear goes stargazing and finds many dot-to-dot animals including a whale, a swan and a lion. They keep on looking until they find a little bear, just like them, in the night sky.
The planetarium is equipped with an analogue induction loop and has spaces for wheelchairs.
