Last chance to see Game On 2.0

Never mind Christmas and New Year, one of the most important dates to put in your calendar is the end of Game On 2.0 at Life Science Centre!

Game On 2.0, the world’s largest collection of playable video games, has been one of Life’s most popular exhibitions to date. Sadly, this blockbuster exhibition will shortly be coming to the end of its seven month stay in Newcastle. The last day to catch Game On 2.0 is Sunday 3 January 2016, meaning there are less than three weeks left for visitors to get their fill of video game fun!

Featuring over 100 playable games from the past 60 years, Game On 2.0 has drawn in crowds of all ages excited to revisit the games of their youth, whether that was Space Invaders, Sonic the Hedgehog, or Halo. During its time at Life the exhibition has seen well over 100,000 visitors, all eager to get to grips with gaming technology - from chunky original arcade games to the latest developments in Virtual Reality, such as the Oculus Rift headset.

Even for those who would not consider themselves ‘gamers’, the exhibition has proved an unbeatable day out. Recent Tripadvisor reviews describe Game On 2.0 as ‘one of the best exhibitions I have ever witnessed’ and ‘worth the admission fee in itself'.

“Game On 2.0 has been great fun for us to host, and I think is definitely a firm favourite amongst our audience,” adds Ian Simmons, Science Communications Director at Life. “It has been especially heartening to see people of all ages enjoying a visit to the exhibition, and watching their reactions to all of the different technology.’

As well as Game On 2.0, your ticket includes access to the whole Science Centre, including the North’s best planetarium, live shows in the Science Theatre, the 4D Motion Ride*(currently showing wintery adventure Happy Feet 4D - Mumble’s Wild Ride) and the hands-on Experiment Zone. Visitors can also take the chance to enjoy a whirl around Life’s outdoor ice rink for a full festive day out!**

*Please note – You must be at least 1.2 metres in height to use the Motion Ride.

**Skating and Science Centre tickets sold separately please see life.org.uk for ticket prices.
