Go potty for poo this half-term at Life Science Centre

Life Science Centre is heading down the U-bend this February half-term (10-18 February) and hosting a fun-filled Poo Week. It’s icky fun, but jam-packed with science.
Visitors can expect a range of activities that cover the physics of toilets, human (and dinosaur!) digestion and crafting and experimenting with toilet rolls.
Elin Roberts, Head of Public Engagement at Life, said: “We wanted to offer something special for our half-term visitors. Children (and adults!) have a natural fascination with bodily functions, so we hope everyone will really enjoy our Poo Week!
“Everything inside the Science Centre is included in the admission price, so it’s a great value way to entertain the whole family without breaking the bank.”
In the Science Theatre, there’ll be live performances of Number 2 – the poo show, with demos that include ‘poo-cooking’ and a firing hippo bum!
Visitors can also get crafty with toilet roll tubes in the Making Space, get up-close to real fossilised dinosaur poo and explore the diets and droppings of dinosaurs in the blockbuster exhibition Dino Jaws. In the Brain Zone, visitors can put their mind over matter to the test with a challenge to drink from a toilet bowl water fountain.
Older children* and adults can don a lab coat in the Experiment Zone and try out a new experiment, Test of the Toilet Rolls, to find out if cheaper supermarket-brand toilet paper is as good for your tooshie and your toilet as a top-brand tissue.
February half-term also marks the last chance for visitors to catch two winter favourites at Life, with the outdoor ice rink and The Polar Express Journey to the North Pole on the 4D Motion Ride* both drawing to a close on Sunday 18 February.
*For safety reasons, age or height restrictions apply to some activities. Please see for full details.
