This year, we celebrated our milestone 25th birthday – a moment to reflect on the impact we’ve had and to look ahead to the future.

Science centres like ours play a vital role in the UK’s scientific, educational, and cultural landscape. Last year alone, more than 5.2 million people visited their local science and discovery centres, engaging with interactive, hands-on experiences that inspire children, families, and communities.

Despite this, science and discovery centres receive little public funding compared with museums, libraries, and galleries. The Science Centres for Our Future campaign is working to change this. Across the UK, science centres are calling on the Government to recognise their role and provide support for the sector’s infrastructure needs, ensuring these centres can continue to spark curiosity and learning for generations to come.

You can show your support by signing the Association for Science and Discovery Centres’ open letter to Ministers. By joining the campaign, you’re helping to secure a stronger future for Life and science centres across the UK.
