Climate change can be a complex and scary subject. But by empowering and listening to our visitors, we give them the opportunity to consider what they can do individually and collectively.
We do this by:
Our Space Zone features visuals showing how climate change is happening, and how it affects our daily lives. It also highlights careers that can help tackle these issues, such as those in climate and the environment.
Our live shows don’t just excite our audiences, they also explore themes such as green energy. And our regular Science Speakeasy’s give adults the chance to consider important debates around climate science.
Our Experiment Zone gives families and schools the chance to explore science in a hands-on way. They can try experiments such as extracting hydrogen gas from water – an important green energy source.
Our young visitors may one day grow up and help tackle the climate crisis. We aim to inspire by introducing them to researchers who are working in exciting fields – some of which may be new to them.
We have a responsibility to empower young people and to listen to their ideas. We’ve hosted climate discussions with local schools, and our workshops gives students an insight into vital STEM careers.
