Margaret Wood

Labour Councillor for the Walker Ward in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne

Margaret is one of three Labour Councillors for the Walker Ward in Newcastle, and former Lord Mayor of the city. She has been a councillor for over 20 years and is the only woman to have been elected in the Walker ward, Newcastle.

Margaret re-joined the Life Board in July 2022 and brings with her a wealth of knowledge and experience.

“Life is a key part of Newcastle and has touched the lives of so many people. From those who have received fertility treatment or benefitted from the world class research that’s done on site, to the thousands of families and school children who visit the science centre every year.”
