Learning Lab: Powering the Future

Little girl excited during British Science Week

A free funded STEM experience for North East schools

Life has teamed up with our friends at Glasgow Science Centre to offer a fully funded Learning Lab: Powering the Future package.

This unique STEM programme supports teachers and inspires students through a range of engaging learning experiences over several weeks. The package includes lesson plans, worksheets, video content, expert interactions, professional development, and homework activities. Participating classes will also enjoy a visit to Life Science Centre, complete with a hands-on workshop. The curriculum-linked content draws on the Science, Geography and English programmes of study.

Students learning in Mission Control, a hands-on exhibit in Life Science Centre's Space Zone.

Thanks to funding from OPITO, this programme is free for schools in North East England. It is aimed at Key Stage 2 pupils (year 3-6).

Schools in the North East* can register their interest. If the programme is oversubscribed, schools will be selected based on the following criteria:

  • State-funded schools
