By the end of the workshops students will have discovered:

How labs are designed to help scientists use chemicals safely.

How to use a range of lab equipment such as pipettes, Bunsen burners, funnels, and spatulas.

How scientists identify unknown chemicals.

What happens when chemicals react with one another, such as change of colour, change of temperature, change from liquid to solid.

How scientists create new substances by mixing chemicals together.

We allow a ratio of 1 adult to every 5 children for most groups. Additional adults over this ratio will be charged. In the case of SEN groups, we may offer further free adult support on request – please contact us to discuss your requirements.
