Skate Like a K-pop Star

Special ticketed event
For all ages
Sunday 30 November 2025, various times

Step onto Life’s outdoor ice rink on 30 November for a K-pop themed skating night you won’t forget.

Channel your inner idol and skate to back-to-back hits from BTS, BLACKPINK, TWICE, and more. Whether you’re a dynamite dancer or a quieter vibe stan, it’s your chance to shine on the ice.

Get ready to slay the rink, summon your inner “demon hunter,” and dance your way through your favourite K-pop tracks under twinkling festive lights.

Situated in Times Square, just outside Life Science Centre, the rink, made of real ice, provides skaters of all ages and abilities with the ultimate festive experience.

Skating sessions last approximately one hour (includes time to fit skates, so expect around 45 minutes on the ice).

Limited availability so online booking is recommended.

Sessions are on Sunday 30 November at 4pm, 5pm and 6pm

Useful info before your skate

  • Children aged 9 years and under must be accompanied by an adult on the ice. Children aged 10 – 12 years must be supervised by an adult, either on the ice rink or from the viewing platform.
  • Skating aids can be hired on the day of your visit for £5.00 (subject to availability). They are suitable for children under 1.2 metres in height.
  • Space on the viewing platform is limited and reserved for those supervising their children.
  • Skate hire is included in your ticket. If you have your own skates you’re welcome to use them, but we can’t give discounts.
  • Lockers are available from reception for a small charge to store valuables, but ultimately all items (including shoes) are left at your own risk.
  • Please wear suitable clothing – waterproofs, hats and gloves are recommended. Some people like to bring a change of clothing – particularly spare socks. Gloves and socks can be bought from the Life shop if you’re caught short.
  • If you use a wheelchair and you would like to use the rink, we recommend that you visit during quieter times (early sessions at weekends). You must be accompanied by an accompanying carer on foot and we will provide foot grips to accompanying carers, sorry but the carer cant skate whilst supporting you. Electric wheelchairs must be turned off whilst on the ice. We’d recommend calling the team on 0191 243 8210 ahead of your visit to avoid disappointment. Carers visit free of charge.
