For group bookings of 20 people or more, we recommend booking in advance to secure the best experience and availability.

Group ticket prices:

£12.00 per person

Visiting from 25 June to end of the Summer term? The government is cutting VAT for organisations like ours over the summer and we’re passing the saving onto visitors. If you visit during this period, science centre group visits are £10.50 per person.

We work with local authorities, HAF providers and community organisations to deliver high-quality Holiday Activities and Food programme sessions in Newcastle and the North East region.

Our HAF experiences offer:

  • Hands-on science activities for children and young people
  • Safe, inclusive group sessions led by DBS-checked staff
  • Experienced facilitators trained in safeguarding
  • Affordable access to engaging educational content

These sessions are designed to support skills development, curiosity and positive group experiences during school holidays.

Special Educational Needs (SEN) groups

We welcome SEN groups and are committed to creating a welcoming and inclusive environment where everyone can enjoy a visit to Life.

We offer a range of accessible experiences to support different needs, including specially adapted Planetarium shows for visitors who are Deaf, hearing impaired, blind or partially sighted.

For Deaf and hearing-impaired visitors, we can offer Planetarium shows with full British Sign Language (BSL) interpretation throughout, alongside subtitles. Accessible versions of Earth Defenders and Life – The Greatest Story (launching October 2026) are available for group visits. For blind and partially sighted visitors, Audio Universe: Tour of the Solar System offers an immersive Planetarium experience that represents the Solar System through sound as well as visuals. Earth Defenders is also available with accessibility features to support visually impaired visitors. These shows are not part of the daily programme but can be arranged for group visits by contacting info@life.org.uk.

Newcastle's outdoor ice rink is great for groups!

Life’s outdoor ice rink is an established part of Newcastle’s festive calendar and reopens from Saturday 7 November 2026. 

Situated in Times Square, just outside Life Science Centre, the rink, made of real ice, runs throughout the Christmas season, providing skaters of all ages and abilities with the ultimate festive experience. 

Bookings are now open for groups of 20 or more. Plus, exclusive hire is also available at a heavily reduced rate.
