Adults can enjoy a breathtaking tour of the night sky at Newcastle’s Life.

Live Skies is a new series of evening shows in Life’s state-of-the art planetarium, where visitors will be fully immersed in 360-degree visuals of the night sky above them, without weather or light pollution spoiling the view.

Building on the success of the popular planetarium shows developed for family audiences, these new extended presenter-led shows for adults delve deeper into the history and mythology surrounding the patterns of seasonal stars, starting with Virgo in April.

Held bi-monthly, they are part of an expanded after hours offer for adults at Life, with the added option for visitors to enjoy a drink in the centre’s new café bar.

Life is also adding new dates for its bestselling ‘Dark Side of the Moon’ planetarium shows. The show combines breath-taking visuals of the solar system and beyond set to 42 minutes of Pink Floyd’s iconic album.

“The Dark Side of the Moon show has proved to be a sell-out success and demonstrated the appetite for evening shows for adults wanting a unique experience rather than a traditional night out.

“In our new Live Skies show, our presenters will take visitors on a 360-degree journey into the wonders of the night sky, focusing on each season’s chosen constellation, offering an entertaining night out that you can’t find anywhere else in the region.”

Linda Conlon, Chief Executive of Life

Life’s planetarium is the largest in the north and uses the most advanced technology available for ultra-rich, high-resolution visuals and wonderful sound quality to provide a unique, totally immersive experience.

A pay bar is available for the evening shows and for more details on dates and tickets go to our website.
