Exhibits and activities that will fire up your imagination.

When you first enter the science centre – under Gaia and just in front of the Making Studios – you’ll be welcomed by a range of exciting, hands-on exhibits designed to spark curiosity and playful experimentation.

Test your ideas on the spinning table, see what happens when you stack different objects, and get hands-on with cogs and motors to discover how movement and sound work together. Don’t forget to capture the moment at the photo booth, with plenty of fun props to choose from.

Be inspired by the LEGO® Wall – a series of impressive creations built by professional LEGO® artist Steve Mayes. From iconic inventions to local landmarks, these miniature masterpieces offer a fresh perspective on the world around us.

Accessibility information

This area includes a range of exhibits designed to move, light up or make sounds. Some are screen-based, and some feature colourful moving patterns.

As this space is near the main entrance, it can be busy – particularly at the start of the day. Some exhibits, like the jukebox, can be noisy. Ear defenders are available from reception for a refundable deposit.

The LEGO® Wall features detailed brick models of historic inventions and moments. These models are behind a glass screen and are for display only.
