Newcastle’s Life Science Centre is offering families a discounted opportunity to end the school summer holidays on a high note.
For the last weekend of the school holidays (Saturday 30 and Sunday 31 August), visitors can enjoy a full day of science-fuelled fun for £5 per person.
With the cost-of-living pressures that many households are facing, this Fantastic Fiver offer is designed to help families make the most of their final days of summer holiday fun together.
Life is also currently trialling a discounted £3 ticket for those eligible for Universal Credit. This will also be available over the weekend.
A science centre highlight is the new 360° immersive dome show in the state-of-the-art planetarium, Life: The Greatest Story, which is written and produced in-house. The show is narrated by actor Alex Kingston, star of Doctor Who, ER and just announced as a contestant in this year’s Strictly Come Dancing. It explores the earliest forms of life and delves into one of science’s biggest questions – does life exist elsewhere in the universe!
Visitors can also explore the new Lightbox exhibition, a space filled with light, sound and water phenomena, including a six-metre-high mist tornado tower, as well as other popular areas of the centre including Wow Zone with its Big Machine and pulley chairs and Space Zone which features a replica of the International Space Station.
Younger visitors can also explore Play Zone, designed especially for early years learning and discovery. Other highlights include live science shows, experiments and making activities. Everything is included in the ticket.
As part of our 25th Birthday celebrations, this special offer will help more families enjoy the science centre and we look forward to welcoming them for a great weekend of fun.
