Fiona Cruickshank OBE

Chair of the Board

Fiona, a North East native, is an experienced entrepreneur with an interest in helping small and medium-sized businesses reach their growth potential. She supports a range of businesses as an Angel investor.

Fiona joined the Board at Life in 2013, becoming Chair in 2020, and is committed in supporting our mission to make science accessible for all and making a difference to the region.

"As a mum coming to Life, my kids have had birthday parties here, been ice skating, attended school workshops and been wowed by countless exhibitions. In a business capacity, I’ve come to Life to attend and host meetings; to network at special events, such as a live broadcast of Radio 4's Any Questions?; and I've helped to train scientists who’ve gone on to work at Life. As Chair, it is an enormous privilege to help steer Life for the years ahead."

Fiona Cruickshank OBE is Life's Chair of the Board.
