This summer, Newcastle’s Life Science Centre is introducing a new £3 Universal Credit ticket, giving more people the chance to enjoy a full day of science-fuelled fun at a reduced rate.
From Saturday 19 July to Sunday 31 August, anyone eligible for Universal Credit can purchase tickets for themselves and up to five others, with each ticket priced at just £3. That means a group of six can enjoy everything the centre has to offer for just £18.
Visitors can enjoy a full day of activities included with admission, from immersive exhibitions and live science shows to hands-on experiments and creative making activities.
A highlight this summer is a new 360° immersive dome show, Life: The Greatest Story, which explores one of science’s biggest questions – is there life beyond Earth?
Visitors can also explore the new Lightbox exhibition, a space filled with light, sound and water phenomena, including a six-metre-high tornado tower.

In Wow Zone, families can try out engaging exhibits like the Big Machine and pulley chair races, while Space Zone features a replica of the International Space Station.
Younger visitors can explore Play Zone, designed especially for early years learning and discovery.
Life Science Centre is just a five-minute walk from Newcastle Central Station, making it an easy and accessible destination by public transport.
Go North East is also offering free travel for up to three children aged 11 and under when travelling with an adult with a valid ticket or concessionary pass holder between 19 July and 31 August. Children aged 4 and under already travel free on buses.
Life Science Centre is open daily from 10:00am to 5:00pm throughout the school holidays.
Reduced Universal Credit tickets can be purchased on the website or in person on arrival at science centre reception. Universal credit ticket cannot be bought in conjunction with other offers. Proof of eligibility may be required.
