Lord Lieutenant of Tyne and Wear, and Chair of the North East Local Enterprise Partnership
Lucy is a champion for the North East at a national level and throughout her career has highlighted the importance of the arts, culture and creative sectors.
A lawyer by background, she was Pro Vice -Chancellor at Northumbria University for 12 years until 2022 when she was appointed Lord Lieutenant of Tyne and Wear; the monarch's representative. During her time at Northumbria, Lucy was one of the main driving forces behind the university launching a campus in Amsterdam, overseeing the growth of the campus in London and substantially improving graduate employability. Lucy is also the chair of the North East Local Enterprise Partnership and until 2020, was the chair of the North East England Chamber of Commerce.
