Until Friday 10 November, enjoy a feast of frightfully fun live shows and exciting experiments.

Plus!  Enjoy thrilling, interactive exhibits in Wow Zone, including the 6-metre-tall ‘Big Machine’! Other highlights include Space Zone, complete with a replica of part of the International Space Station and Play Zone for under 7s.

October highlights

New science show – Fire can burn underwater and ice can boil water! Explore the power and beauty of both in this live science show.

Experiment Zone – Trick and treat your senses with hands-on science activities. Fool your eyes, your brain and your sense of touch. (ages 7+).

Make and take home activities – Make your own crankenstein monster or brilliant bat using a range of tools and materials. Find out how to make it move then take it home to scare your friends. 

Spooky trail – Keep your eyeballs peeled and see if you can find the life-sized skeletons in different locations around the science centre. Do you know any famous scientists? These funny bones might have names that sound a bit familiar…

Wow Zone – Get hands-on with multi-sensory exhibits including light play, dramatic demonstrations controlled by you and the ‘Big Machine’ which stands over six metres tall!

Discover the stars – Blast off into space and experience a tour of the night sky in the Planetarium. Take a look at the different stars, how to find them on your own and be dazzled by a close-up encounter.

Gaia, our planet Earth – Be amazed by the seven-metre wide, glowing replica of our shared home, created by British artist Luke Jerram. On the upper level of the science centre, grab an easel and create your own Earth-inspired artwork.

Play Zone  – Fun for under-7s with a book nook, soft play and more.

Life is located in Times Square, just a two minute walk form Newcastle Central train and Metro station.

Group visits

Life is a great place for groups of all sizes to spend a day and take part in some fun science activities! If you’re bringing 20 people or more, it’s best to book in advance.
