Limited edition workshop from February 2027.

Who is it for: Key stage 1 and reception, Key stage 2, Key stage 3
Duration: 1 hour

Science fact or science fiction?

From February 2027, Life’s latest exhibition, The Force of the Story, will introduce Life’s visitors to a huge collection of Star Wars memorabilia, on display for the first time*.

As one of the most beloved sci-fi sagas, Star Wars has inspired generations of scientists to wonder about the universe.

Inspired by this year’s British Science Week theme, ‘creativity’, our latest exhibition invites students to explore the boundary between science fact and science fiction through a hands-on workshop, available for a limited time.

Students will step into the role of materials scientists, designing and engineering structures capable of withstanding the harsh conditions of planets from popular fiction that we know and love.

They’ll put their designs to the test and discover what it takes to build a structure that can survive an alien world.

*The Force of the Story is a private collection not affiliated in any way to Disney or Lucasfilm or any of their affiliates.
