Wired for bias: AI and gender stereotypes

Do you have children aged 5-11? Help our resident Researcher do real scientific exploration this summer!

Georgia Wright, a PhD student from Teesside University, is researching police lineups, and how the process can be made more suitable for children and young people.

Watch CCTV footage of someone committing a naughty (but age-appropriate) crime, before taking part in a mock line-up where you get to help catch the crook!

Look out for the lollipop stands around the science Centre to find out the times for these exciting research sessions.

Georgia will be based in our Upper Making Studios Mondays to Fridays 20 July until 14 August (excluding 4th and 5th of August).

To book, scan the QR codes around the science centre on the day of your visit.

A caregiving adult must remain with the children at all times.

This research has been approved by the ethics committee.

Meet the expert series

At Life, we regularly invite scientists and STEM professionals from universities and other organisations to meet and talk with visitors

It’s a chance for our visitors to ask questions, learn about what different scientists do on a day-to-day basis, how they got into their chosen field, and maybe even help them with their research.

For scientists and STEM professionals, it’s a chance to engage the public with their work, spread knowledge and awareness and perhaps gather some data.

If you’re a scientist or STEM professional, and interested in getting involved, ask a member of the Life team for details when you’re here, or email info@life.org.uk
