Meet the Robots

Sorry, this event has now passed!
A white carebot looking up at camera.

To celebrate British Science Week, we’re exploring robotics.

Robots are now part of our everyday lives, assisting and entertaining us. For one day only, on Saturday 8 March, we’re lifting the lid on how North East scientists and engineers are applying robotics to solve real-world challenges. Meet the team from Sunderland University and explore real-world robotics.

Plus, you’ll have the chance to see Luma, a giant glowing robotic snail! All included in your science centre ticket. This event will run in addition to the usual exhibits and activities.

Spotlight on series

At Life, we regularly invite scientists and STEM professionals from universities and other organisations to meet and talk with visitors

It’s a chance for our visitors to ask questions, learn about what different scientists do on a day-to-day basis, how they got into their chosen field, and maybe even help them with their research.

For scientists and STEM professionals, it’s a chance to engage the public with their work, spread knowledge and awareness and perhaps gather some data.

If you’re a scientist or STEM professional, and interested in getting involved, ask a member of the Life team for details when you’re here, or email info@life.org.uk
