Pink Floyd’s iconic album ‘The Dark Side Of The Moon’ is 50 this year and you can experience the music and stunning visuals in Life’s planetarium on Tuesday 13 July.
The show combines breath-taking views of the solar system and beyond, played out to 42 minutes of The Dark Side Of The Moon. NSC Creative have led the visual production efforts, working closely with Pink Floyd’s long time creative collaborator Aubrey Powell from Hipgnosis.
It uses new Digistar 7 technology making it the world’s most advanced planetarium system, using state-of-the-art projectors to give ultra-rich, high-resolution visuals and a totally immersive experience.
Some futuristically look forward and others are a retro acknowledgment to Pink Floyd’s visual history, all relating to a time and space experience, embracing up to the minute technology that only a planetarium can offer.
Before the show, you’ll be treated to short trip to the moon - including its dark side - thanks to the wonders of technology and the Life team!

Doors open 30 minutes prior to your planetarium show. Please arrive no later than 15 minutes prior to the start time. Pay bar available on the evening. Seating not reserved.
Driving? Times Square Car Park is just around the corner. The sat nav reference for the car park is NE1 4AD (opposite Leonardo Hotel – formerly Jurys Inn). Look out for Centre for Life and/or Times Square Car Park signage to direct you.
Life is located close to Newcastle Central Station with frequent bus routes stopping in front of Times Square on Westmorland Road.
There are cycle racks in Times Square for you to securely lock up your bike.
