Visitors explored spooky science and Halloween-themed activities throughout October 2025.

Throughout October, visitors enjoyed frightfully fun live shows and exciting experiments.

They also explored interactive exhibits in Lightbox, Space Zone, and Play Zone for under-7s.

Autumn 2025 highlights

  • Meet the dinosaurs with the Teach Rex gang (25 October – 2 November)
  • Be a real scientist in the Experiment Zone! Examine real minibeast specimens including bees and beetles, and trick or treat your senses (Age 7+)  
  • Create a spooky shadow lantern in the Making Studios
  • See how easy is it to be tricked in a NEW live show. Can you find the fake?
  • Nurture your young explorers in Play Zone a fascinating world where little ones can build, create, and learn 
  • On Halloween (Friday 31 October) only, explore the science centre after dark as we stay open until 7.00pm (opening 12 noon). Enjoy slime workshops, spooky dancing and a yucky feely wall

Life is located in Times Square, just a two minute walk form Newcastle Central train and Metro station.

Group visits

Life is a great place for groups of all sizes to spend a day and take part in some fun science activities! If you’re bringing 20 people or more, it’s best to book in advance.
