Event details

This half-term, we’re bringing the Moon to the Toon and checking out some alien life!

Created by UK artist Luke Jerram, Museum of the Moon is a seven-metre-wide sphere that is suspended in the air and covered with NASA’s most detailed imagery of the lunar surface. Basically, it’s the next best thing to actually flying to the Moon to take a closer look!

Elsewhere in the science centre, the latest planetarium show Moonstruck will reveal some of the scientific secrets of the brightest object in our night sky, and there’ll also be Moon-inspired making activities.

Maybe in the future we’ll all be travelling to moons and planets, but, for now, it’s the realm of science fiction. In our exhibition Alien Invasion, come and see 39 original and replica props from sci-fi films and TV shows and dream of what it might be like to visit other worlds.

It’s also your last chance to take a whirl on our outdoor ice rink. Get your skates on – the ice rink closes at the end of the February half-term holidays!

The science centre will open at the earlier time of 9.00am on weekdays during half-term.
